Montecatini Terme overview

Montecatini Terme is a medium sized city of around 20,000 residents whose sole purpose in life is to attempt to cater to the two million tourists that descend annually to the world-renowned health spas and resorts. A city of hotels (230 of them) means all holiday leisure and pleasure whims are readily catered for, though far more appealing is the al fresco sidewalk atmosphere where you can re-enact your favourite Godfather scene with a macchiato and a bowl of the city’s world-famous hand-made pasta. The northwest Tuscan town is firmly absorbed into the Italian tourist trail, although there is little variety in accommodation despite the diversity of offerings. Essentially one large commercial industry built around the spas; if you enjoy staying in hotels you will love Montecatini Terme.
