Parma overview

Parma is found in Northern Italy and is famous for its stunning countryside, as well as its architecture. The city is also the home of the one of the oldest universities in the entire world, the University of Parma. It may be difficult to believe but Parma is famous for its (gasp!) art, food and culture, which makes it pretty much like every other city in Italy in that regard. However, there are some interesting churches which contain many ancient masterpieces that are unique enough to make Parma well worth the trip. The list of artists that hail from this area reads like a who's who list from an art history class, so Parma is definitely a must-see for art lovers. Parma is world famous for its food and is the birthplace of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, which is the stuff you put on your pizza.
