Perugia overview

Perugia, which is found in the middle of Italy, is a unique mixture of both ancient and modern architecture, art, and food. Like most cities in Italy, Perugia has loads of old churches, which are as beautiful inside as they are outside, but the city is also home to a number of interesting secular buildings as well as some unique modern architecture just in case you are sick of looking at old things. The Palazzo dei Priori is known as one of Italy's most amazing secular buildings and is home to many unique and beautiful frescoes. The city was home to a number of famous artists from different eras, but is most famous for producing many of the best renaissance works. Both Raphael and Pietro Perugino created some of their masterpieces while staying in this city and many of their best work is on display in the Art Gallery of Perugia.
