Puglia overview

Puglia Travel Guide
If you called the people of Puglia the "heel" of Italy they might take offence, but in the boot of Italy they are just that. Puglia borders the Adriatic Sea on the southeastern coast and has a rich history and culture largely due to being the epicenter of many ancient wars and being controlled by several different nations. The architecture in Puglia is a unique blend of Greek, Norman, Arab, and Pisan influences, and many of the ancient structures are still standing. Some people come to see the medieval city of Ostuni, but the tourism that suffered greatly during the economic collapse in the 1980s has just started to rebound, which means good bargains can still be had, and peace and quiet can still be found. The city is a combination of natural and manmade beauty that should not be missed.
