Siracusa overview

Siracusa Travel Guide
Siracusa, which is found in southern Italy, offers a great chance to see an ancient and well preserved city. The city was once a very powerful Greek city-state and there are still many remnants of the ancient Greeks. The entire city is listed as a World Heritage Site, and is also famous for being the birthplace of Archimedes. The city offers some of the best examples of Greek architecture, amphitheatres, and culture, although most of the people speak Sicilian. The Temple of Apollo, in addition to having a very cool sounding name, is one of the main ancient attractions. There are also many beautiful churches and cathedrals, which make it pretty much like every other city in Italy in that regard, as Italians do love their churches. Siracusa offers a unique mixture of ancient and modern culture and an interesting window into the diverse past of the region.
