Sorrento overview

Sorrento is one of the most beautiful parts of southern Italy, but that information is definitely not a secret, as it has become a top tourist destination for people visiting Naples and Capri. Naples is just a short ferry ride away and on a clear day can be seen across the bay. Many of the country's elite come to Sorrento for the views of the sea cliffs and the luxury hotels which dominate the coast. Because of this, Sorrento is not the cheapest place in the world, so if you are expecting to go there on a backpacker's budget, don't be surprised if you end up sleeping outside. The city is also an important religious site and is the home a very famous ceremony during Good Friday, but don't worry, you can just sip limoncello and look at the views if religious ceremonies are not for you.
